青芒果 vs 黃芒果
夏天到處都見到芒果的蹤影,金黃色澤、軟綿多汁的口感有誰不愛?且慢!有時看到青皮芒果是未熟透嗎?青芒果及黃芒果是兩個品種,青芒果外青內黃,果肉口感較爽脆,味道帶微酸,較適合做沙律、冷盤;而黃芒果果肉軟綿,味道較甜膩,多直接吃或做甜品及飲品。
不少人以為芒果「濕熱」,食材本身不會「濕熱」,「濕熱」是指人體致病的原因及體質;芒果性熱且肥甘黏膩,助濕生痰,故容易令體質偏熱人士增加「濕、熱」症狀,然而芒果有益胃、止嘔、止暈、解渴、利尿的作用,配合體質適量進食就可以享受芒果的滋味了。
芒果 — 性熱,具益胃、止嘔、止暈、解渴、利尿作用。多種原因造成的頭暈皆可食用芒果紓緩症狀;適合慢性氣管炎咳嗽、氣喘患者食用;皮膚敏感及過敏體質患者須謹慎食用。糖尿病患者不宜進食。

Green mango vs Yellow mango
It is not difficult to find shops selling mangoes during summer, and it is an absolute delight to indulge in the sweet and juicy fruit. We often think a green mango is an unripe mango, but that is not always the case.
Green mangoes and yellow mangoes are actually two different varieties. Green mangoes have green skin but yellow flesh. Its flesh is crunchier and more sour in taste, and they are suitable to be used in salad and cold dishes. Yellow mangoes, on the other hand, are softer and sweeter, and they are often used in desserts or consumed directly.
Many people believe mangoes are ‘damp and hot’ in nature, but the term ‘damp heat’ is in fact used to describe the body constitution and the cause of illness. Since mangoes are warm in nature and are sweet and sticky, they can easily cause dampness to accumulate in the body and cause phlegm. Hence, individuals with a heat related body may experience damp heat symptoms.
Nonetheless, mangoes are good for the stomach, can relieve nausea and dizziness, quench thirst, and induce urination. We should be able to enjoy mangoes by consuming an appropriate amount of the fruit based on our body constitution.
Mango - Hot in nature. It can nourish stomach, relieve vomiting and dizziness, relieve thirst and promote diuresis. Dizziness caused by various reasons could be relieved by eating mango. It is suitable for those with chronic bronchitis cough or asthma. Those with skin allergy and sensitive body type should eat less. It is not suitable for diabetic patients.

坊間有「凡瓜皆涼」之說,的確不少瓜類蔬菜都屬性偏涼,例如冬瓜、絲瓜、青瓜等,體質虛寒人士不宜多吃,但如果你屬於濕熱型肥胖體質,症狀包括食慾旺盛、容易疲倦、小便量少帶黃、大便黏臭、多面油、易長暗瘡、體味重等,可以適量吃瓜紓緩濕熱症狀,亦有助減肥;因濕熱型肥胖人士宜清熱袪濕,多吃有清熱利水功效的食材,配合強度大的帶氧運動,例如跑步、跳繩、球類運動等,流汗有助排走體內濕氣,減肥就事半功倍。
冬瓜 — 性涼,有清熱祛暑、利水消痰功效,尤其適合夏天食用,對水腫、腳臭、暑熱煩悶很有幫助。注意陽虛體質、脾腎虛弱及易有腹瀉者不宜。
苦瓜 — 性寒,有袪暑解熱、清心明目的功效,適合於夏日食用,可紓緩咽喉腫痛、目赤等偏熱症狀,糖尿病人同樣合適,脾胃虛寒者不宜多吃。
絲瓜 — 性涼,有清熱解毒、化痰、安胎通乳的功效,適量服用能改善因夏季而導致的口乾、咳嗽多黃痰、婦女帶下過多或味重、孕婦產後母乳不通等症狀。
青瓜 / 老黃瓜 — 老黃瓜為成熟版青瓜,兩者功效相約,同樣性涼,具清熱解毒、生津止渴及利尿消腫的功效,適合濕熱、陰虛體質、痛風、高血壓、高血脂人士食用。要注意脾胃虛寒、容易腹痛、泄瀉者不宜食用。
節瓜 — 性平,能健脾胃、袪濕,功效像一個平和版的冬瓜,能紓緩水腫、孕婦身體浮腫、肥胖等症狀。適合任何體質人士食用。

Melons can aid weight loss (for damp heat body constitution👍)
People tend to assume that all melons are cold in nature. Many melon-type vegetables such as winter melon, loofah, and cucumber are indeed cool in nature, and individuals with a weak and cold body should avoid eating them.
However, if your body belongs to the damp heat condition and has obesity problem (symptoms: large appetite, fatigue, yellowish urine, sticky stool, oily face, grows acne easily, and has body odor), eating melons can relieve the damp heat symptoms and help with weight loss.
Individuals with this body constitution should clear heat and dispel dampness from the body regularly. remove dampness from the body, you will be able to lose weight more effectively.
Winter melon - cool in nature, clears summer heat, promotes diuresis and clears phlegm. It is suitable to eat during the summer, and can relieve edema, feet odor, and irritability due to summer heat. Note that it is not suitable for those with yang deficiency body constitution and those with asthenic spleen and kidneys and those prone to diarrhea.
Bitter gourd – cold in nature. It can clear summer heat, clear the heart and improve eyesight. It is suitable for eating in the summer. It can relieve the heat-related symptoms such as sore throat and redness in eyes. It is suitable for those with diabetes. Those with asthenic spleen and stomach should not have too much.
Luffa - cold in nature, it clears heat and removes toxins, reduces phlegm, stabilizes pregnancy and aids lactation. When taken appropriately, it can relieve summer-related symptoms such as dry mouth, cough with yellow phlegm, alleviate high volume of vaginal discharge or discharge that has strong odor, and improve postpartum lactation difficulty.
Cucumber / old cucumber - Old cucumber is the mature vegetable of a cucumber plant. They have similar healing effects, and both are cool in nature. They can clear heat and detoxify, promote fluid production to relieve thirst, and promote diuresis to relieve bloating. Suitable for those with damp heat and yin deficient body constitutions, as well as those with gout, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Note it is not suitable for those with asthenic spleen and stomach and those prone to diarrhea and loose stool.
Hairy gourd - mild in nature, can strengthen the stomach and spleen and dispel dampness. The healing effects are similar to a mild version of winter melon and can alleviate edema, bloating due to pregnancy, and excess weight. It is suitable for all body types.

木瓜花生雞腳袪濕湯
材料:
煲湯排骨1磅
青木瓜1個
花生1兩
茨實1兩
雞腳8隻
鮮淮山1支
眉豆1兩
蜜棗3粒
處理:
1. 花生、茨實及眉豆,清水浸半小時。
2. 大火煲滾1鑊水,放排骨及雞腳出水3分鐘。
3. 鮮淮山,清水洗乾淨。
4. 鮮淮山,用膠袋揸住,去皮。
5. 青木瓜,洗淨表皮,1開2,去核。
6. 蜜棗,清水浸5分鐘。
7. 鮮淮山,切大舊。
8. 木瓜,打直1開4 。
9. 花生、眉豆、茨實及蜜棗,清水沖洗乾淨,擎乾水。
10. 排骨及雞腳已出水3分鐘,倒去水分,清水洗淨。
11. 放排骨入煲。
12. 雞腳,用菜刀或廚剪除去趾甲,放入煲。
13. 同時加入其他材料。
14. 加入水2.5升。
烹調:
1. 大火煲滾。
2. 滾起後,轉中慢火,煲1小時30分鐘,熄火,再焗30分鐘。
3. 煲好,完成,可享用。
Papaya chicken feet soup
Ingredients:
Pork bones 1 lb
Papaya (green) 1 No.
Peanuts 1 tael
Moskowitz 1 tael
Chicken feet 8 Nos.
Fresh yam 1 log
Black~eyed peas 1 tael
Candied dates 3 Nos.
Preparation:
1. Peanuts, moskowitz and black~eyed peas, soak in tap water for 30 minutes.
2. Heat up a wok of water at high flame. Put pork and chicken feet, soak for 3 minutes.
3. Fresh yam, rinse with tap water.
4. Fresh yam, hold with plastics, get it peeled.
5. The papaya, get it rinsed. Divide it into 2 shares. Remove the seeds.
6. Candied dates, soak in tap water for 5 minutes.
7. Fresh yam, cut in big pieces.
8. Papaya, divide it into 4 shares vertically.
9. Peanuts, black~eyed peas, moscowitz and candied dates, get them rinsed, hang dry.
10. Pork and chicken feet have been soaked for 3 minutes, pour away water. Rinse thoroughly.
11. Put pork rib into pot.
12. Chicken feet, cut the nails with chopper or kitchen scissors, put into pot.
13. Put all the other ingredients into pot.
14. Add water 2.5L.
Steps:
1. Heat up at high flame.
2. Turn to medium~low flame after boils up. Boil for 1.5 hours. Turn off fire. Leave it for 30 minutes.
3. Finish. Complete. Serve.

多汗主要有自汗和盜汗兩種情況,分別出現於各種體質。氣虛人士較容易有自汗的情況,主要是因氣虛、肺氣不足時,皮膚內的毛孔鬆散,促使汗大量排出。當中,伴隨的症狀有反覆感冒、怕風和容易疲倦。但如果排出的汗有臭味兼呈黃色,則是肝火盛或濕熱症狀所致的自汗。另外,盜汗是指睡覺時出汗的情況,熬夜或陰虛體質的人士最為常見。出汗之餘,伴隨的症狀還有五心煩熱、臉部泛紅、口乾和大便偏硬等。
